Some would call it a dream. Others would declare it impossible. Many are not even thinking about it. Jesus? He prayed for it. It was part of His last and most fervent petition. When he was facing certain death, when his own life was about to be taken in the most brutal manner, He asked the Father in Heaven for this.
Unity. Oneness. Wholeness. Togetherness. Sameness. Community. Unity. Our Savior asked our Heaven Father to make us, each of us, one with one another and with Him as He is with His Father. The Christ asked the Creator to make us without ego or logo and to meld us together as a loving force for the Kingdom of Heaven. Humanity Might not even think about it. Jesus couldn’t help but pray for it.
In an age that is arguably the most divided in human history, Followers of Jesus are empowered by God himself to be the antithesis to separation. Not only are we called and empowered, we are indwelled by divine unity, the Holy Spirit. In light of God’s design, Jesus’s prayer, and the Spirit’s presence, division is actually harder than unity because it is counter to our calling and created purpose.
Across the globe we see unity happening and the Church leading the charge. In a little over a month’s time, from Oslo, Norway to Toowoomba, Australia the Church will come together to take restorativeaction. From New York City to Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea government, business, and church leaders will unite in redemptive love. From Athens, Greece to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Jesus followers will humbly seek reconciliation. From Chennai, India to the historic cities of Virginialeaders from every sector will set in motion actions that will reclaim a broken history.
Movement.org is determined to be the answer to Jesus’s prayer in John 17. As Movement Days are celebrated in all these cities in just over 30 days, unity will break out and God’s Kingdom will appear in here on earth one soul and one city at a time.
Will you join us? Will you pray with us? Will you pursue unity in your home, at work, in your neighborhood, and in your city? Will you refuse to see barriers and give in to what God has called you to and created you for?
We are designed to be the answer to Jesus’s prayer. How cool is that?!?!
